About Home Lodge
We are a beautiful, boutique bed and breakfast in Golden with 4 ensuite bedrooms (and one spare for emergencies). Surrounded by great views, our lodge is situated just outside of Golden, BC on 40 acres. It has the feeling of seclusion, yet is close enough to town to get to local activities and restaurants. We are also a little hobby farm with a small fold of Scottish Highland Cattle and a very old but sprightly horse. Home Lodge is owned and operated by Lynn and Sigi, a Scot and a Swiss who bring little bits of Europe to Golden. We are not a hotel and we are not an AirBnB – we are a real bed and breakfast in Golden! You will not be given entrance codes to doors, not charged a cleaning fee and not breaking any rules by staying here. You will get a great breakfast, professional service, meet wonderful guests and genuinely connect with locals.
Relaxed luxurious stay
Down to earth, relaxed and comfortable yet modern, stylish and luxurious, our bed and breakfast in Golden is designed to be a wonderful place in which to enjoy a vacation for no matter how long you decide to stay.
We want you to feel you can really make yourself at home. We want you to come back after a day of travelling, sight seeing or adventure seeking and be able to put your feet up and wind-down comfortably.
Free wifi is available throughout should you really need to do more than relax. Help yourself to tea and coffee and afternoon treats baked that day.
Spaces to enjoy
Guests who choose to stay in a B&B rather than a hotel do so primarily for a more unique, sociable and personal touch. Whilst we can certainly offer you that, there are also enough spaces inside and out for you to escape to should you need some privacy and personal space. In times of Covid it’s sadly become more important to have spaces away from others. One day soon we can hopefully sit together and enjoy the company of other guests from all over the world.
We live on the property but not in the main lodge, so we won’t intrude but be close by if you need us. All the wonderful public spaces inside and out are yours to enjoy: living room, games room, library and TV area, deck and gardens.
In your room or in the common areas, from the modern decor inside to the stunning views outside, from the delicious breakfasts to the lovely people you are destined to meet, we hope you love your stay at our bed and breakfast in Golden, BC.
Amazing breakfast
Home Lodge is renowned for its great breakfast. We love cooking the most important meal of the day for our guests. If the smell of fresh brewed coffee doesn’t get you up then maybe warm bread straight from the oven or morning baked muffins will.
Guests love the fresh artisan bread and Swiss cheeses. Great quality coffee, home made muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt and a hot dish each morning truly make Home Lodge a luxury bed and breakfast.
With advance notice all allergies and food preferences can be easily catered for. Breakfast is available anytime between 7am-9am each morning.
For now Covid may have put an end to guests from all over the world sharing the large breakfast table. We are able to seat couples separately each morning, inside or out.
Amenities and services
Our Lodge is certainly more than just accommodation in Golden. The lounge has an amazing view of Table Mountain through the floor to ceiling windows. Lots of seating, music player, maps, guides and games plus a real log fire ensure the coziest spot to enjoy.
The library holds lots of material to suit the mood: high to low-brow, fiction, non-fiction, sports, travel guides and magazines. A desk for your laptop overlooks the gardens, cow and horse paddock. Sliding doors lead out to the deck and hot tub.
The basement hosts table football, a card and games table and the only TV at Home Lodge. There is a huge DVD library and the smart TV allowing you to connect to your own streaming accounts.
We have a big functional mud-room. After a day hiking or skiing pull off your wet layers and hang them up here or throw them in the dryer. Store your skis, boards , boots, poles and outdoor equipment.
Outside areas
There is a BBQ on the deck for eating al fresco. Feel free to bring your beer, wine and snacks and store them in the fridge.
Outside there is a gazebo and huge deck with options for sun and shade, eating and drinking, lounging, reading and enjoying the views of mountains or cows. We love gardening so we have packed flower beds and borders and a large vegetable garden where you’re welcome to pick or weed.
As bed and breakfasts in Golden go we of course think we have one of the best views and surroundings.

Policies
Regrettably we are unable to accept pets at the Lodge.
We welcome children over the age of 12 years.
Maximum 2 guests per room
No smoking is permitted inside the lodge but there are designated areas outside
Cooking in the kitchen is not permitted however you are welcome to store food and drink in the fridge.

The modern B&B is owned and operated by Lynn Moffat, a Scot who moved here in 2005 after falling in love with Golden, BC. Lynn and her partner, Sigi, a Swiss timberframer, love to meet the guests from all over the world who stay here. Down to earth, relaxed and comfortable yet modern, stylish and luxurious, the Lodge is designed to be a wonderful B&B in which to enjoy a vacation for no matter how long you decide to stay.
